Who We Are:
East Coast Gold is currently the largest team in the country, comprised of Athletes and Coaches from all over the North East Region of the United States and beyond, who train and compete on regional, national and international levels.East Coast Gold has expanded with over 10 satellite centers and numerous affiliates throughout the Northeast. Each center offers facilities and coaches. The team is comprised of over 250 members which includes men, women, coaches and medical staff. We range in age from 9 to 50+. Our lifters range in size from 36 kg. (79 lbs.) to over 160 kg. (352 lbs.) with abilities ranging from novice to international elite. They include Olympians, several World Team members, National Champions, numerous nationally ranked Juniors, Seniors and Women. We also have many new young lifters who promise to follow in the footsteps of our elite lifters.
Our team participates in a variety of team activities including: competitions, clinics, camps, exhibitions, promotional activities and developmental activities. All members receive newsletters apprising them of events and developments in US weightlifting.

General Principles
* Strive to maintain high standards of excellence in their work
* Seek to promote integrity in the practice of coaching
* Uphold professional standards of conduct
* Respect the fundamental rights, dignity and worth of all participants
* Be aware of professional responsibilities to the community and societySpecific Guidelines
* Coaches maintain membership with USAW and abide by the federation's guidelines
* Coaches do not engage in discrimination on any basis proscribed by law
* Coaches do not engage in behavior that is harassing or demeaning on any basis
* Coaches do not exploit athletes or other participants over whom they have supervisory, evaluative or other authority
* Coaches do not engage in any form of uninvited recruitment of any athletes who are currently members of other teams
* If athletes wish to switch teams, they must do so on their own accord following notification of the coach of the team they are leavingALL EAST COAST GOLD ATHLETES ARE SCHOOLED IN DRUG-FREE MODES OF TRAINING AND ARE EXPECTED TO TRAIN AND COMPETE DRUG-FREE.

USA Weightlifting is a non-profit sports corporation established to recruit, train and support athletes for weightlifting competition in the Olympic Games. It is a member in good standing of the U.S. Olympic Committee(U.S.O.C.) and the International Weightlifting Federation (I.W.F.).
East Coast Gold Weightlifting Team is a sanctioned club and, as such, is a member of USA Weightlifting (USAW).USA Weightlifting
